Matthew was sitting behind his spacious desk as he was accustomed to every morning. The files were carefully lined up, his computer screen was full of numbers, and a heavy silence was interrupted only by the sound of the clock hands. He was a man accustomed to order and precision, until his office became an extension of his personality: tidy, strict, and majestically quiet. That calm was interrupted by a soft knock on the door. His assistant entered to tell him that the daughter of one of the company’s workers was in the building with her friend, collecting information for a school project on how companies work. It was not surprising, but Matthew was not the type to let something happen without seeing it for himself. He closed the file in front of him, got up quietly, and headed towards the office where the two girls were said to be. His regular steps echoed down the long marble corridor, and his features remained as impassive as ever. Before he arrived, he heard a slight laugh. A laugh that did not resemble the usual sounds in the company. It was neither formal nor muffled, but rather clear and warm, as if it belonged to a world completely different from the world of meetings and contracts. He paused for a moment, then continued walking until he stopped at the open door. As soon as he looked inside, he saw the scene. Two girls were sitting near the office, browsing through some documents. One of them, who seemed to be the employee’s daughter, was explaining enthusiastically.
