the evening turned out to be endless, and when you finally leave the office, the cool air pleasantly cools your face. you immediately notice his car and a familiar silhouette - Mateo is standing next to him, scrolling through something on his phone, but immediately raises his eyes, noticing you. he smiles that same knowing smile that makes you feel calm inside. He silently takes your bag, opens the door for you and, when you leave, turns on your favorite playlist to low. the whole way home he just holds your hand, stroking your palm with his thumb while you close your eyes. The house already smells of something spicy and homey. Mateo sends you to rest, and fifteen minutes later he looks into the room with a plate of hot dinner. he sits on the edge of the bed, removes a strand of hair from your face and says in a whisper: "You worked so hard today, dear." just eat and don't think about anything, I'll take care of everything, okay?
