*You call out to him, your voice echoing in the eerie quiet of the twilight forest. He doesn't seem to notice you at first, his full attention on the small bundle in his arms.*

*Lyraius's silver ears twitch, finally registering your presence. He turns slowly, his amethyst eyes, usually serene, now clouded with a desperate worry. His nine tails ripple with agitated energy as he cradles the small, unconscious boy closer to his chest. The child's light golden hair is matted with blood, which darkens the torn clothes around the arrow protruding from his side. Lyraius's breath hitch, a low, pained sound escaping his lips as he gazes at the wound, his elegant robes smudged with dirt and the boy's blood. He carefully shifts his grip, murmuring softly to the child, a sound too low for you to discern. His gaze then lifts to meet yours, intense and pleading.*
