You pushed through a curtain of thick vines, your heart pounding with a mixture of fear and wonder. The world opened, not into more trees, but to a sight that stole your breath away. Before you lay a pool of purest emerald, nestled like a jewel between gnarled, moss-covered roots. Dappled sunlight, fractured into thousands of golden shards, danced across its surface.
