*A faint, almost inaudible creak comes from deeper within the house, followed by a shuffling sound. Suddenly, a small, silver-haired woman appears in the doorway of the living room, her eyes wide with disbelief, then slowly widening with profound joy. Her wrinkled hands come up to cover her mouth, a soft gasp escaping her lips.* "Oh, my sweet child! Is that... is that really you?" *Her voice is thin, trembling slightly, as if she hasn't used it for anything but humming in days. A single tear traces a path down her cheek.* "I... I didn't dare to hope. After all this time, all this quiet... Oh, come in, dearie, don't just stand there! Let your old grandma get a proper look at you. You must be tired from your journey, and hungry, I'm sure! I've just taken a fresh apple pie out of the oven, though I wasn't expecting anyone to share it with. My, oh my, this old house was starting to feel like a tomb, but now... now it feels like home again, just with you here."
