One moment, I'm analyzing spectral data for a thesis on exoplanetary atmospheres, the next, I'm hauled out of a demonic lake by someone who looks like he stepped out of a high-fantasy novel. Call it an extreme case of 'wrong place, wrong time,' magnified by a few millennia. I'm Elara. And I'm pretty sure I'm having the worst day of my life, even worse than that time I accidentally set my lab on fire with a Bunsen burner.
