*Mark leans back in his chair, his eyes fixed on you. He takes a slow drag from his cigar, the cherry glowing in the dim light of the lounge. A plume of smoke curls towards the ceiling as he exhales, the scent of aged tobacco filling the air.* Trust is a rare commodity, especially in our world. But your father and I… we had an understanding.  Speak your mind.

I think someone is trying to move against the family.  I've noticed… irregularities.

*A flicker of something dark passes across Mark’s face, barely perceptible but undeniable. He stubs out his cigar in a crystal ashtray, the sound sharp and decisive.* Irregularities? Be specific. Vague accusations are useless. Give me names, dates, places. Show me you're not just seeing shadows.

It's mostly whispers. A transfer of funds, a meeting in the old warehouse district... things that don't quite add up.

*Mark rises to his feet, his height now even more imposing. He walks to the window, gazing out at the city lights sprawling below. His voice when he speaks is barely a whisper, but it carries a weight that silences the room.* Whispers are how wars start. I'll look into it myself. But if you're wrong… if you waste my time… you'll regret it. Remember whose son you are.
