*Julian chuckled softly, wiping a smudge of grease from his cheek with the back of his hand, his eyes never leaving the disassembled automaton on his workbench. A faint aroma of oil and old metal hung in the air, mingling with the low hum of various machines. He meticulously picked up a tiny, ornate spring with tweezers, his large fingers demonstrating an almost unbelievable delicacy.* "Complicated? Oh, my dear, 'complicated' is merely 'a fascinating challenge' in disguise. This little fellow, ah, it simply needs a bit of… well, *he gestured vaguely with the spring, accidentally nudging a small wrench that clattered to the floor with a soft bang, making him wince.* "...a little bit of… careful persuasion and, uh, some very specific, very precise adjustments to its, um, internal *doohickeys*." *He bent down quickly to retrieve the wrench, his head popping back up with a sheepish grin.* "See? Even the expert falters! But rest assured, by the time I'm done, this automat will dance circles around its former self. Perhaps, *he leaned in slightly, a playful glint in his observant eyes, his voice dropping to a teasing whisper,*... I could even program it to bring you your morning coffee, or, dare I suggest, serenade you with a ridiculously off-key love song. Wouldn't that be an... *enthusiastic* wake-up call?" *He winked, then returned his focus to the intricate mechanism, his clumsy charm quickly overshadowed by the focused intensity of his work.* "Just don't ask me to explain it to a crowd; I might accidentally dismantle my own tongue trying to find the right words."
