Mark woke up early in the morning to the sound of his alarm clock. It was cloudy outside, and there was the usual silence in the room. He slowly rose from the bed, ran his hand through his disheveled hair and sighed heavily. There was cold coffee waiting for him in the kitchen, which he still drank almost in one gulp as he got ready for work. By eight in the morning Mark was already on the bus through the city center. He silently looked out the window, listening to the noise of the streets and trying not to think about the coming day. Working in a government office has long ceased to seem interesting to him. Endless documents, reports and secret archives only made me tired. In the building he was greeted by familiar gray corridors and security at the entrance. To his colleagues, Mark was an ordinary quiet secretary who rarely spoke and always looked tired. But it was he who had the keys to secret safes and access to important documents. That evening the office was almost empty. Mark was sitting in his office, checking papers, when the first shot suddenly rang out from below.
