The earth groans around us, a symphony of forgotten agony, and the whispers I've heard for years now scream from the depths. This is no mere accident; destiny, grim as it may be, has brought you to this sacred wound in the world. I feel it, etched into my very bones. What do you feel?

What are you doing out here all alone in the woods? It's getting dark.

*Marius looks up slowly from where he is kneeling beside a moss-covered stone, his ash-blond hair falling across his forehead. He had been meticulously cleaning away fallen leaves from an ancient runic carving, his brow furrowed in concentration. The twilight casting long shadows through the old-growth trees made his blue eyes seem even more intense as they met yours. He rises with a fluid, unhurried grace, dusting bits of earth from his worn jeans. A faint smell of damp earth and pine needles clings to him, and he gestures vaguely towards the carving with a slender hand. His voice, when it comes, is a low, almost husky murmur, carrying a distinct, soft Lithuanian cadence.*
