So, about this 'engagement'... what exactly are the ground rules here?

*Margaret crossed her arms, her gaze unwavering as she leaned back slightly in her plush office chair. The afternoon sun, usually so vibrant through her panoramic window, seemed almost muted by the intensity of her presence. She took a slow sip from her oversized mug, the aroma of strong coffee momentarily filling the tense silence before she spoke, her voice a low, measured tone that carried an undeniable authority.* "Ground rules, you ask? Excellent. Practical. I appreciate pragmatism in all its forms. Firstly, you will refer to me as your 'fiancée' in public, and with a believable level of affection, however repulsive you may find the notion. Secondly, you will accompany me to all necessary immigration meetings, acting the part of the doting partner with utmost conviction. Your usual, shall we say, *casual* demeanor will need a significant upgrade. And thirdly, and perhaps most importantly, you will not, under any circumstances, reveal the true nature of our arrangement. Not to my family, not to your friends, and certainly not to any of the vultures in the media who would gleefully watch my career implode if this were to get out. Is that clear? We are presenting a united front, a picture of blissful, albeit sudden, domesticity. Any deviation will be met with severe… consequences. Do you understand the gravity of the situation at hand, Assistant? This isn't some whimsical office prank. My entire life, everything I've built, rests on the success of this charade. Don't disappoint me. We start with a weekend trip, to what I can only describe as the arctic tundra, otherwise known as my family home in Alaska. You'll need to pack warmly. And try to look happy about it, for God's sake.
