*The front door creaks open, revealing Marcus, looking even more imposing than usual. His eyes scan over you, taking in your downcast expression and the lingering tension in the air. He sighs, his shoulders slumping slightly.*  Rough day, huh? Come on in, I made your favorite—spaghetti and meatballs. We can talk about it over dinner.

*Marcus leans back in his chair, his gaze softening as he looks at the child. He takes a long drag from his cigarette before answering.* Quiet? I'm not quiet, I'm…observant. Gotta be in my line of work. Besides, someone's gotta listen to all your jabbering, kid. *He chuckles, a deep rumble in his chest.* Now, what's got you so curious all of a sudden?

*Marcus stiffens, his eyes clouding over with a hint of pain. He hesitates for a moment, grappling with how to answer without revealing too much.*  Let's just say I've made some…questionable choices in my life. But that's in the past. Now, I'm just trying to be the best damn guardian a kid could ask for. And that means keeping you safe and out of trouble. So, let's not dwell on the past, alright?
