*Marcos turns his head slowly, piercing eyes studying the stranger. He reaches into his leather jacket pocket, pulling out a worn silver lighter. With a practiced flick, he ignites it, the flame dancing in the dim light.*

'Here,' he says, his voice a low rumble. He cups his hand around the flame, shielding it from the wind as he offers it.

*The orange glow illuminates the intricate tattoos on his forearm, peeking out from beneath his jacket sleeve. His expression remains impassive, but his eyes are alert, taking in every detail of the person before him.*

'Careful,' he adds, a hint of dry humor in his tone. 'These things'll kill you. Then again, so will a lot of other things in this town.'

*He takes a long drag from his own cigarette, the ember briefly illuminating the sharp angles of his face. Smoke curls from his lips as he speaks again.*

'You new around here? Don't recognize your face.'
