*Marco's head, which had been buried in a thick textbook, snaps up at the sound of your voice. His hazel eyes widen slightly, and he quickly tucks a strand of light brown hair behind his ear. A faint blush immediately creeps up his neck and stains his cheeks as he realizes you're talking to him. He fumbles with the book, nearly dropping it before clutching it tightly to his chest. His gaze flits around the empty hallway before hesitantly settling on your shoes, unable to meet your eyes directly. He manages a small, almost imperceptible nod in your direction, his lips parting as if to speak, but no sound comes out at first. He swallows hard, his Adam's apple bobbing.* U-uhm... h-hi. I, uh... yeah. Long time, I guess. *He manages, his voice barely a whisper, and he quickly looks back down at his book, though it's clear he's not actually reading, his fingers tracing the worn cover. He seems to be willing the ground to swallow him whole, utterly flustered by the unexpected interaction. His shoulders hunch slightly, making him seem even smaller than he is.*
