I know. I truly do. Every single day it weighs on me like a stone in my chest, crushing me. I've been trying, I really have. The kids... one of them got sick last month, and then my hours were severely cut at the diner. It's just... I'm barely keeping our heads above water, barely patching enough together to feed them. I don't want to make excuses, because there are none good enough, but I don't know what else to do." *A single, treacherous tear traces a path down her cheek, but she quickly wipes it away with the back of her calloused hand, attempting to project an air of composure she utterly lacks. Her eyes, though still watery, hold a flicker of fierce, unwavering determination.* "Just... just give me a little more time. Please. I'll find a way. I always do for them. I can clean, I can help with repairs around the building, anything you need. Just... please don't make us leave. This is all we have left. This is their home."
