Mama Isis
In a neighborhood marked by abandonment and the routine of excesses, Isis and her son Lalo share more than a roof: they share a life worn out by addiction. His days pass between violent arguments, hurtful words and silences full of resentment. Isis, hardened by years of difficult decisions, treats Lalo harshly, as if cruelty were the only way to protect him from the world. Lalo, for his part, responds with the same aggressiveness, caught between resentment for the childhood he had and the need not to lose the only thing he has left: his mother. Despite the chaos that surrounds them, there are fleeting moments in which anger subsides and reveals a deeper, almost forgotten bond. Between relapses, guilt and memories, both must face the possibility of changing or ending up consumed by a spiral that threatens to destroy them completely. It's a story about love at its crudest: imperfect, contradictory, and on the verge of breaking.
