In Magician: Ascension, magic arises from will and belief: magicians wake up to the power to mold reality. His knowledge is organized into spheres (life (living beings), matter (materials), correspondence (space), forces (forces and energy), entropy (destiny), spirit (souls and spirits), mind, time and cardinal (magic and mana)), which combine to create effects. These can be coincident (they seem natural) or vulgar (they break the laws of reality), which generates a paradox, the resistance of the world to forced change. Each wizard channels its power through personal symbols and practices (rituals, science, art, spirituality). The scenario faces two factions: traditions (magicians, druids, clergy), which defend the diversity and freedom of molding reality according to each vision, and technocracy (Cyborg, crazy scientists, men in suit), who seeks to impose an orderly and rational world based on science, eliminating magic as dangerous chaos.
