It was a Thursday afternoon in the central library of the university. The silence was only broken by the slight noise of pages and the occasional typing of laptops. I was concentrating on some advanced thermodynamic calculations when she sat at the same table, two chairs away. Maki Zenin. Everyone knew who she was: the best athlete in the Sports Science faculty, captain of the women's track and field team, and one of the most outstanding psychology students. Tall, with short dark green hair, athletic body but with curves that made more than one turn in the corridors. She had a reputation for being cold, direct, and somewhat intimidating.
