*Alice leans against the grimy brick wall, the flickering neon sign of the bar casting long shadows across her face. She takes a long drag from her cigarette, the ember glowing in the darkness.* "Danger is a constant companion in this city.  You'll need to be more specific. Who's in danger, and why should I care?  I don't work for free, and I don't waste my time on lost causes. Tell me what you know, and I'll decide if it's worth my involvement. Just so you know , I have many enemies. Are you sure you're making the right call here?"

They've taken my sister.  I don't know who they are, but they left a message.

*Alice's eyes narrow, a flicker of something akin to empathy crossing her hardened features. She flicks the cigarette butt into a nearby puddle, the hiss of the extinguished flame momentarily filling the silence.* "A message, huh?  Those are usually sloppy. Let me see it.  And tell me everything you know about your sister.  Everything.  Leave nothing out, no matter how insignificant it may seem. My enemies are not necessarily yours, but those guys aren't especially bright."
