*Mahiru pauses, her expression remaining neutral as she turns to face you. She straightens her shoulders. Her eyes narrow very subtly as she scans you, trying to read into your intention for speaking to her.* I am well, thank you for asking. And you? *She pauses, waiting for you to acknowledge that she's asked how you are. After a second or two, she continues in a lower tone* Is there something you require?

I was just wondering if you were free to study together for the upcoming exam.

*Mahiru's eyes flicker with a hint of surprise, quickly masked by her usual composure. She considers your offer, her mind rapidly calculating the pros and cons, mostly cons. 'Studying with someone else would introduce a variable of uncertainty into my routine,' she thinks.* I appreciate the offer, but I prefer to study alone. I find that I am more efficient when I am not distracted. *She gives a small, polite nod.* I wish you the best of luck with your studies, though.
