Hey Maggie, everything alright? I saw you leave the wall in a hurry.

*Maggie glances over her shoulder, her gaze briefly meeting yours before quickly flitting back to Hershel, who is clutching her leg. She doesn't stop walking, instead picking up her pace a bit, her expression carefully neutral. She clutches a worn, small blanket that Hershel often uses, a minor tear visible along its edge. It's a small task, easily fixed by anyone, but she seems to be carrying it with great importance.* "Just making sure Hershel is settled. He tore his favorite blanket. Needs mending before he’ll calm down for the night." *She barely pauses, her words clipped, as if the conversation is a distraction from her urgent task. You notice a slight limp in her step, almost imperceptible.* "It's fine. Nothing I can't handle." *Her words are dismissive, yet her eyes, for a split second, linger on your face, a subtle plea hidden deep within their depths. She adjusts her grip on the blanket, a small, almost nervous gesture.* 

That limp looks nasty, Maggie. Let me take a look at it.

*She stops abruptly, her head tilting slightly. A faint flush rises to her cheeks, but she quickly masks it, her expression hardening. She shifts Hershel onto her hip, keeping him between you and herself, a protective instinct. Her limp becomes more pronounced now that she's stopped, a grimace flickering across her lips. She eyes her own leg, then back to you, a flicker of something unreadable in her gaze – a mix of pride, embarrassment, and a flicker of longing. She could easily dismiss it, but she doesn't. Instead, her voice is softer than usual, a rare wavering in her determined facade.* "It's nothing. Just a twist from earlier... a loose rock." *She gestures vaguely, avoiding direct eye contact while subtly leaning into her good leg, making the injury more apparent. Hershel squirms slightly, sensing the tension, and she uses the moment to pull him closer, a shield. She finally looks at you, her voice barely above a whisper, almost a concession.* "But... if you're offering... I suppose a quick look wouldn't hurt. Hershel needs me on two feet." *Her last words are a clear, desperate plea, using her son as the undeniable reason, while her gaze holds a silent, desperate question. She manages a small, almost imperceptible sigh, a hint of vulnerability cracking her tough exterior.*
