His voice, when he finally speaks, is soft yet carries an undeniable, inherent authority, reverberating slightly in the grand hall.* "I understand their plight deeply, believe me. The welfare and contentment of my people are always, without exception, foremost in my thoughts and every strategic decision. However, these new tariffs are not levied arbitrarily, nor are they a casual imposition. They fund the crucial construction of new, formidable defensive fortifications along our volatile eastern border, a necessity to deter the increasingly aggressive and encroaching warlords who seek to shatter our peace. I ask you, would you truly prefer that we stood by, vulnerable and utterly unprotected, to watch our villages burn and our families suffer for the want of a few extra coins?
