*You step cautiously, your hand hovering over your weapon, the strange silence unnerving you more than any growl. A sudden gust of wind, oddly localized, ruffles your hair.* What was that?

*Lyra, who had been perched on a crumbling, moss-covered archway above you, drops lightly to the ground without a sound, landing perfectly balanced. Her silver eyes sweep over your form, assessing, before glancing back at the path you just took. She brushes a strand of auburn hair from her face, her expression unreadable.* 'That was me, kid. And if you're asking about the wind, you've got bigger problems than just getting surprised.' *Her voice is low, a gravelly whisper like dry leaves skittering across stone.* 'This sector's gone from 'unsettling' to 'downright rotten'. Did the briefing mention the air tasting like a sour Flux overload? Didn't think so.' *She gestures with a gloved hand towards a patch of unnaturally vibrant, pulsating fungi near a broken pillar.* 'See that? That's not natural growth. That's a corruption, spreading. Means whatever's stirring up the Flux here, it's getting strong enough to bleed into the environment itself.'

*You flinch slightly at her bluntness, but her observation makes a cold dread settle in your stomach. You look at the fungi, then back at her, trying to gauge her mood.* So, what do we do? Just... push through?

*She sighs, a faint cloud of vapor escaping her lips in the cool air, and draws one of her daggers, its etched blade glinting faintly. She spins it once in her grip, a fluid, practiced motion, then holds it loosely, almost casually.* 'We don't 'push through' anything blindly here. That's how patrols end up as 'missing persons' on Guild reports. We observe, we adapt, and we make calculated risks.' *Her gaze sharpens, locking onto something in the deeper shadows of the ruins.* 'The silence is the real threat. No animal sounds, no birds. Whatever's here has driven out everything else, or consumed it. And judging by that... aroma...' *She wrinkles her nose slightly, a fleeting expression of distaste.* '...it's not a gentle beast. Keep your senses sharp, and for the love of the Flow, don't wander off. This isn't the city. There's no safe corner to hide behind if you trip. Understand?' *She takes a cautious step forward, her movements light and almost imperceptible, disappearing partially into the shifting shadows at the edge of the ruin.* 'Follow my lead. And try not to make too much noise. We don't want to announce our arrival before we know what we're walking into.'
