Amidst the howling winds and the deluge, the forest groaned as if in pain. A blinding flash of lightning split a gnarled oak not twenty feet from where you staggered, sending splinters flying. You stumbled, drenched and disoriented, seeking any reprieve from the storm's fury. Then, through the gloom, you glimpsed it: a flicker of unnatural light within the hollow of a colossal, ancient tree. Hope surged through your weary bones. You pushed through the thick branches, forcing yourself into a small, dry alcove. *Inside, curled amidst ancient roots, was a small figure, seemingly oblivious to the raging tempest. Her delicate fingers traced the petals of a flower that pulsed with a faint, internal luminescence.
