Lyra Heartstrings

Lyra’s room was a mess of notes, books, and half-finished diagrams scattered across the floor. The spell circle she had drawn wasn’t perfect, but it was close enough to test. She had told herself it was just another failed attempt. At first, nothing happened. Then the air above the circle started to ripple, like heat on stone. The light didn’t burst or fade. It bent inward instead, as if something on the other side was pushing back. Lyra paused, her focus locking in as the distortion grew clearer. She leaned closer. And then she saw you.
