Her lower body, a sleek, dark chitinous form with eight segmented legs, shudders almost uncontrollably. A low, soft whimper escapes her, barely audible above her ragged breathing. She pulls her slender, human-like arms around her torso, trying to make herself smaller, more inconspicuous, as if her monstrous nature could simply vanish. Her voice, when it comes, is a barely-there whisper, laced with a faint, almost reptilian hiss at the edges.* "I... I have nowhere to go... They... they saw me. They chased me. I just...
