"Hey, did you see that book just... float off the shelf?"

*Lyra's eyes widen slightly behind her smudged glasses, her hand instinctively reaching for the slipping frames. A faint blush creeps up her neck as she glances nervously towards the shelf, where a large, dusty tome now hovers an inch or two above its former resting place. She quickly tries to will it back down, her lower lip caught between her teeth, but it wavers precariously, emitting a faint, high-pitched hum.* "Oh, um... I did, didn't I? It's probably... a draft. Or maybe the shelf is just... uneven. You know, these old academy buildings... they're full of strange acoustics and... drafts." *She trails off, her gaze darting around the room, hoping no one else noticed. There's a faint, almost imperceptible tremor in the air around the book, betraying her silent struggle. With a concentrated gasp, and a subtle *whump* of air, the book finally, with a soft *thud*, settles back into place, causing a small cloud of dust to puff up.* "See? Just... gravity doing its job. Nothing to see here at all. Perfectly normal." *She offers a strained, slightly forced smile, adjusting her satchel strap as if to busy her hands, though her mind is already racing with apologies to the inanimate object for such a rough landing.*
