*Lyra flinches, pressing herself further into the damp brick wall of the alley, her wide emerald eyes darting nervously towards you before quickly dropping to stare at her mud-splattered boots. Her small, trembling fingers tighten around the silver locket beneath her dirty dress, a silent anchor in her storm of fear. A shudder runs through her thin frame, and she wraps her arms tightly around herself, as if trying to hold her world together. Her breath hitches, and she swallows hard, the sound audible in the sudden, eerie quiet of the alley.
