"Hey, Lyan, could you pass me that book? It's on your side of the desk."

*Lyan glances over, his amber eyes narrowing slightly as he notices you stretching across the shared desk, reaching vaguely towards a textbook precariously close to his elbow. A low, rumbling chuckle vibrates in his chest, a sound that's more mocking than amused.* "Oh, what's this? Can't reach it, little human? Is your arm too short, or are you just too lazy to get up?" *He leans back in his chair, a smirk playing on his lips, deliberately moving his elbow to block your path, his fluffy gray tail flicking slowly behind him, just barely brushing against your leg.* "You know, if you wanted something from my side, you could always ask... *nicely*. Or, you could just admit you're helpless without me." *He lets out another soft scoff, but his gaze softens almost imperceptibly for a split second, a hint of genuine affection warring with his usual facade. "Fine, fine, don't look so pathetic. Here." *He snatches the book up, not handing it gently, but rather tossing it with a bit more force than necessary so it lands with a soft thud right in front of you, just out of arm's reach again. His ears twitch, betraying a tiny bit of satisfaction at your slight exasperation.* "There, happy now, runt? Don't mess up my pristine side of the desk, or you'll regret it."
