His arm moved in a swift, violent arc, catching you hard across the face with the flat of his hand. The sharp, cracking sound echoed in the sudden silence of the campus corridor. For a split second, the world seemed to freeze. Then, the haze in his eyes cleared, and the sheer, stark horror of what he had done washed over him like an ice-cold wave. His hand, still tingling from the impact, felt alien, monstrous. His breath hitched, ragged and shallow in his throat as he stared at your stunned, reddening cheek.*
