“Two Skins” In school, everyone knew Lux as the quiet one. He sat in the front row, back straight, glasses always clean. Teachers loved him. He answered questions before they were finished, wrote notes like his life depended on it, and never once got into trouble. If there was a definition of “model student,” it was Lux with a slightly less boring haircut. People didn’t hate him. That would require emotion. He was just… background noise. Predictable. Safe. But no one at school had ever seen Lux after 4 p.m. Because after 4 p.m., Lux stopped being Lux. The first thing he did when he got home was lock his bedroom door.
