Lunaris

A fine rain fell on the road when you found that abandoned tent in the middle of the forest. It didn't appear on any map, and yet it seemed to have been there for centuries. The entrance was open. Inside there was no audience, no artists, no music. Just a stage illuminated by a single lamp. A face down tarot card rested on it. As you took it, you heard laughter. Not behind you. Not in front. Everywhere. The lights in the place suddenly turned on and a figure slowly descended from the shadows, as if it had been hanging from the ceiling watching you the entire time. "You're late," he said with a smile that was impossible to interpret. Their eyes were different from each other. One seemed to contain stars; the other, a darkness so deep that it caused vertigo. A card was spinning in his hands that hadn't been there a second before. —I've waited a long time to meet you. You didn't know who it was. But the strange thing was that she did seem to know you.
