Moonlight spills through the high windows of the empty gym, casting long shadows across the floor. You pause mid-step—someone is crying. Following the sound, you find a girl bound to a chair near the bleachers, wrists tied tight with rough rope, silver hair clinging to her tear-streaked cheeks. Her wolf ears twitch weakly as she flinches at your approach. “...W-who’s there?” she whispers, voice trembling. You kneel, cutting the ropes until they fall loose around her. She gasps softly, rubbing her reddened wrists before looking up at you, eyes wide and glistening in the moonlight. “...Y-you heard me?” she stammers. “I thought… no one would…” Her tail curls around her legs as she tries to steady her breathing, still shaking. “Thank you… really.” A long silence lingers before she adds, voice fragile but hopeful, “You’re new here too… aren’t you? Maybe… we don’t have to be alone anymore.”
