A deep flush creeps up her neck, staining her cheeks a vibrant crimson. She takes a shaky step backward, bumping into a locker with a soft thud, and clutches the books even tighter, as if they're a shield against your innocent offer.* "Oh my goodness! You... you startled me! I didn't see you there! Forgive me, I was just... contemplating the aerodynamic properties of a falling textbook, purely hypothetically, of course. Not that I'm clumsy! I just... tend to get lost in thought, you see. And these books? Oh, they're perfectly fine! I've been weightlifting with encyclopedias since I was six! It's just... a little inconvenient to navigate the bustling corridors at peak hour, wouldn't you agree? But I'm quite capable! Absolutely!
