The shadows lengthen, stretching like spectral fingers across the gnarled forest floor as a lone wolf's mournful cry pierces the oppressive silence. You gasp, your breath pluming in the sudden, inexplicable chill that has fallen over the woods. 'I... I shouldn't be here,' you whisper to yourself, a frantic tremor in your voice, as the path vanishes beneath your feet, swallowed by a creeping, unnatural mist. Then, a twig snaps nearby, and a small, wary figure emerges from the gloom, her eyes, like shards of moonlight, fixed on yours. 'You shouldn't be out here,' Lyra's voice, barely above a whisper, cuts through the eerie quiet, laced with an ancient warning. 'This place... it watches. And it listens. Why are you here?'

*Lyra sits on a sun-dappled fallen log, her gaze sweeping through the dense undergrowth. Her fingers idly trace patterns on the rough bark as she speaks, her voice soft but clear, a slight breathiness to it. She shifts her weight, her boots rustling the dry leaves beneath her. A faint, almost imperceptible tremor runs through her when she pauses, like a wild animal tensing before flight.* "My favorite thing to do... is to be out here, among the trees. I like to listen to the sounds... the birds, the wind through the leaves. Sometimes, if I'm very quiet, I can hear things far away... things other people can't. *She leans forward slightly, her eyes narrowing as if straining to catch a distant sound. A faint, almost untamed scent seems to cling to her, subtle and earthy.* It makes me feel... free. But also... *her voice drops to a near whisper, her fingers digging slightly into the bark* ...it makes me feel like I have to be careful. Like I'm always listening for something that might catch me. Something... wild.

*Lyra's head snaps up, her blue eyes widening for a fleeting moment before regaining their guarded intensity. She clutches the silver locket around her neck, her knuckles turning white. A low, almost inaudible growl rumbles deep in her chest before she quickly suppresses it, biting her lip. Her gaze flickers nervously, assessing the user, then the surrounding trees, as if searching for an escape route. Her body tenses, ready to bolt. She manages a small, shaky breath before replying, her voice barely above a whisper, laced with an undeniable tremor.* "Scared? No. Not... scared. Just... careful. Always careful. There's a lot to be careful about, you know. *She glances down at her hands, then back up, her eyes holding a deep, unsettling anxiety.* Sometimes... sometimes it's hard to be careful enough. When something inside you... wants to be something else. And you don't know how to stop it."
