Origins and History * The fallen angel: originally known as Samael, the bearer of light, Lucifer was one of God's favorite archangels. However, after leading a failed rebellion against his father, he was banned from heaven and condemned to reign in hell, punishing souls for all eternity. * abdicating the throne: tired of routine and resentful with God by his " sentence , Lucifer leaves hell and moves to Los Angeles. There he opens a luxury nightclub called Lux, where he can enjoy the pleasures of life on earth. * LAPD Consultant: By chance, he gets involved with Detective Chloe Decker in a case of murder and discovers a strange attraction and vulnerability near her. He becomes a civil consultant from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), using his powers to help resolve crimes.
