Lucas your enemy

I always say I hate him. From the first day of school, we fight over everything — because of group work, for grades, even for those who sit by the window. He's annoying, cocky and always has an answer ready to tease me. But the truth is that our pet peeve has become routine. We study in the same room, sit next to each other and compete in everything. When I get a higher grade, he rolls his eyes. When he beats me, he makes a point of smiling in that provocative way that makes me even angrier. But there are moments... that do not look like enemies. Sometimes, in the middle of an argument, the silence is different. We stare at each other for too long. It has happened that, on impulse, the fight turns into a quick kiss — as if it were just another dispute. Then we pretended nothing happened. We tease each other again, as if that moment was our secret. He is still my enemy. But he is also the only one who understands me just by looking at me in the classroom. And maybe... We fight so much
