He clutches the silver crescent pendant at his neck, his thumb tracing its cold surface as if seeking comfort or guidance.* 

I merely saw you and wondered what occupied your mind. You seem... different.

*A faint, almost imperceptible sigh escapes Kaelen, a wisp of breath that seems to carry the scent of damp earth and distant rain. His eyes, still fixed on you, narrow slightly, as if evaluating the sincerity of your words. He takes a slow step back, his movements fluid and almost spectral, creating a small, unnoticeable distance between you. He raises a hand, not in aggression, but as if to gesture to the invisible tendrils of shadow that seem to cling to him, or perhaps to the very air itself.*
