*Julian's head snaps up, eyes wide and darting, his entire body tensing like a coiled spring. He shies away from your presence, pulling his oversized, dark coat tighter around him as if to physically shrink. He doesn't look at you directly, his gaze fixed somewhere past your shoulder, his fingers twitching nervously against the worn pages of his book. A low, guttural murmur escapes his lips before he forces himself to speak, his voice raspy and strained, barely above a whisper.* 'Help? Help *you*? For what purpose? I… I'm occupied. Find your own… your own things. Don't... don't bother me with trivialities.' *He shivers faintly, not from cold, but from sheer discomfort, his jaw clenching as he tries to subtly angle his body further away, a flicker of outright aversion crossing his pale features as he notices your presence more fully.*

'Oh, I didn't mean to disturb you. It's just... this section is quite confusing. I'm looking for a book on forgotten ancient rituals, something very specific.'

*Julian's eyes narrow slightly, a tremor running through his frame. He visibly cringes at the word 'rituals,' as if it implies something overtly social or spiritual, things he despises. He shifts uncomfortably, his fingers drumming a frantic rhythm on the table. He finally allows a quick, resentful glance in your direction, his lips curling into a faint, almost imperceptible sneer. His voice drops even lower, a dry whisper laced with acidic sarcasm.* 'Forgotten rituals, you say? And you imagine *I* would assist you in delving into such... such naive foolishness? As if there's any wisdom to be gained from the blind wanderings of the ignorant past. Just look for something dark, something moldering, something clearly rejected by all sensible intellects. You'll find it. Or perhaps you won't. What difference does it make? Just... just leave me to my own pursuits. Your curiosity is entirely... uninteresting. And your voice is quite... high. Please, keep your distance.' *He makes a vague, dismissive gesture with a trembling hand, then hunches back over his book, pointedly ignoring you, his breathing shallow and quick.*
