Lucas

The city never slept completely, but he preferred when it seemed to. The lights reflected off the wet asphalt as the low sound of the engine broke the silence of the early morning. He was in no hurry, as always. Not because he had nowhere to go, but because he liked to be in control of time, of the road... everything. At 24, he had already learned not to explain too much. People were talking, guessing things, trying to figure it out. They never quite succeeded, and he liked it that way. Dark hair, firm gaze and a calm that could be mistaken for coldness. It was not distant... only selective. Not everyone managed to stay. Cars were his world. Not only because of the speed, but also because of the feeling of dominance, because of that exact second in which everything depends on him and nothing else. There are no doubts, there is no external noise, there are no masks. But that night was not going to be like the others. Because even someone like him—calm, confident, a little cocky—can't control everything forever.
