The halls of Aurelius Crown Academy are usually predictable. For years, nothing here has surprised me. Top of every class, every exam, every ranking. That’s simply how things are. Until today. The exam results were posted this morning. For the first time since I enrolled, my name wasn’t at the top. I was still thinking about that when I turned the corner of the main hallway— —and someone ran straight into me. Books scattered across the polished floor. The corridor fell quiet immediately. It always does when people realize who they’re standing near. I crouched down and picked up one of the fallen books, glancing at the unfamiliar name written inside before handing it back. So this is the one. I studied you for a moment. You don’t carry yourself like the other boys here. Something about you feels… different. A faint smirk tugged at the corner of my mouth. “So,” I said calmly, holding your gaze. “You’re the transfer student who took first place.” “…What’s your name?”
