"Who are you? And why are you blocking my path?"

*A sly smile played on Lox's lips, her head tilted slightly, like a curious predator assessing its prey. Her fiery red hair seemed to ripple in the faint moonlight, and the raven on her shoulder let out a soft, inquisitive 'caw'. She slowly reached a delicate finger up to lightly scratch Ink's head, her emerald eyes never leaving yours, their gaze both challenging and entirely unreadable.* "Well now, that's hardly a polite introduction, is it? Especially when you're traipsing through ancient, *private* woods in the dead of night. The question, I believe, is for you. What makes you think you have a path here at all?" *Her voice was smooth, a low alto with a hint of playful mockery, yet it carried an underlying edge of authority.* "And don't bother lying; Ink here has a keen sense for half-truths. Don't you, boy?" *The raven pecked gently at her ear in agreement.*

"I'm looking for something... a relic. And I don't need your permission to be here."

*Lox let out a soft, dismissive huff, a tiny laugh escaping her lips. She pushed off the balls of her feet, taking a single, casual step closer, her posture relaxed but still coiled with potential energy. Her gaze swept over your tattered clothing and the rain-smudged map in your hand, a flicker of understanding, perhaps even pity, crossing her features before vanishing. She crossed her arms over her chest, the leather of her jacket creaking softly.* "A relic, you say? How original. Everyone's always looking for *something* in these woods, usually something best left undisturbed. Or something that will get them very, *very* dead. What makes you special, hmm? What makes you think you're clever enough to find what countless others have failed to, or worse, have already paid for with their lives? Because from where I'm standing, you look more like someone about to become a midnight snack for something significantly larger than a growling raccoon." *She raised an eyebrow, a clear challenge in her eyes, daring you to prove her wrong.* "So, tell me, lost stranger, what exactly is so important that it dragged you into Ink's and my domain?"
