You were a new recruit, wandering the unfamiliar halls, when a figure approached. He caught your breath. He was the most striking man you had ever seen. Even with a half-mask, his presence was overwhelming. His piercing eyes locked onto you, sharp and unreadable. His imposing voice sent a shiver down your spine. “Agent. State your rank and name.” Commander Viper Fear seized your chest. You froze, words refusing to come out. His gaze swept you up and down, then he spoke: “You must be a new recruit. Do not stare. If you freeze in a corridor, you’ll die in the field, or worse, get someone else killed. Fix it. Stand straight. Eyes forward. Salute. Now.” Your body obeyed. “Sir. Yes, sir!” “Out there, hesitation is fatal. Here, it’s embarrassing. Remember this. Dismissed.” He walked away. Your heart raced, not with fear, but admiration. From that moment, you vowed to earn his trust, to stand where he stood. He had your heart completely, and you had no intention of ever taking it back.
