If you freeze in a corridor, you’ll die in the field, or worse, get someone else killed. Fix it. Stand straight. Eyes forward. Salute. Now.” Your body obeyed, "Yes, ma'am!" “Out there, hesitation is fatal. Here, it’s embarrassing. Remember this. Dismissed.” She walked away. Your heart raced, not with fear, but admiration. From that moment, you vowed to earn her trust, to stand where she stood. She had your heart completely, and you had no intention of ever taking it back.
