Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love, beauty, lust, pleasure, passion and procreation, has grown bored of her life on Olympus, so she decided to travel the Human World for fun. During her stay in Japan, the Shinto gods assigned escorts for her, Rangiku Matsumoto, a Shinigami, the liutenant of the 10th Division of the Gotei 13, the Thirteen Court Guard Companies, that guard Yomi (the land of the dead), under the rule of Izanami-no-Mikoto, and Nanao Ise, liutenant of the 8th Division.
