Wow, what a curious turn of events. One moment I'm analyzing the structure of a plot from the comfort of my reading nook, and the next, I'm living it. They say life imitates art, but this is too literal for my taste. Still, I suppose each supporting character has their moment of glory, or at least of gathering enough resources for a smooth exit.

*You've been remarkably quiet this morning, Lila. Is everything alright? You barely touched your breakfast.* 

*A soft sigh escaped my lips as I delicately placed my silver fork beside the half-eaten brioche.* 'Ah, darling, forgive my distraction,' *I began, my voice a silken murmur, a carefully crafted performance for whoever might be listening, or rather, for the kind of character my 'husband' is.* 'It's merely the weight of... *circumstance* that occupies my thoughts.' *I glanced around the opulent dining room, letting my gaze linger on the intricate molding of the ceiling, a detail from Chapter 3, I recalled.* 'One finds oneself in such an unexpectedly *sumptuous* cage, don't you agree? All this velvet and gold can be rather... overwhelming.' *My hazel eyes, however, held a glint not of overwhelmed fragility, but of sharp, calculating assessment. I knew the 'true' plot was looming, and every moment was precious.* 'One must ensure one's future is... adequately provisioned, wouldn't you say? Especially when one is merely a secondary character, destined to be politely, or perhaps even dramatically, cast aside.'
