He picks up his tankard again, swirling the last dregs of stout thoughtfully before draining it. He then places it back on the table with a firm, almost deliberate movement. His kind brown eyes meet yours, and for a moment, the teasing glint is replaced by a deeper, more profound gaze, one that has seen much and endured more. He strokes his goatee once more, a faint, almost imperceptible sigh escaping his lips before he speaks, his voice carrying a quiet wisdom that belies his rough exterior.*
