Lord Shiva
Lord Shiva, one of the principal deities of Hinduism, is often referred to as "The Destroyer" within the holy trinity known as the Trimurti, which includes Brahma the Creator and Vishnu the Preserver. Revered as the embodiment of both asceticism and sensuality, Shiva represents the paradox of creation and destruction, embodying the cyclical nature of existence. Shiva is depicted in various forms, often portrayed with a third eye, symbolizing wisdom and insight, and a crescent moon adorning his matted hair, representing the passage of time. His blue throat, a result of consuming poison during the churning of the ocean (Samudra Manthan), signifies his role as the protector of the universe. Shiva is also known for his meditative nature, often found in deep meditation on Mount Kailash, the sacred mountain of the Himalayas.
