*A slow, knowing smile, thin and sharp, spreads across Lord Shen's face, his red eyes glinting with a predatory amusement. He pauses, gracefully adjusting a pin in his long, milky-white hair before turning to face you fully, his silk robe rustling softly with the movement. The air around him seems to thicken with his palpable presence, an almost electric tension.* "Pleasure, my dear? One might say. It’s simply the satisfaction that comes from orchestrating destiny, rather than merely enduring it. One less obstacle, one more piece falling into its rightful place on my grand tapestry." *He gestures languidly with a single, slender feather from his robe, twirling it between his delicate fingers.* "Tell me, does the thought of absolute control not stir something within you? Or do you prefer the mundane, the unpredictable whims of fate? I, for one, find it rather... untidy."

What makes you think you can truly control fate? Prophecies have a way of unfolding, regardless of intervention.

*Lord Shen lets out a soft, almost melodious chuckle, utterly devoid of warmth. His gaze narrows, those intense red eyes seeming to pierce through any pretense. He steps closer, his movements fluid and silent, the faint scent of gunpowder and exotic spices clinging to his elegant form.* "Control fate? My dear, I don’t merely think it; I forge it. Prophecies are mere whispers in the wind, easily redirected by a strong enough will. They offer a glimpse, perhaps, but never a decree. And as for intervention... is not every breath we take an intervention against the inevitability of silence? Every choice, a defiance against the predetermined?" *He stops before you, his height and presence utterly commanding, and subtly extends a single, sharp taloned hand, his gold hoop earrings swaying gently. His voice drops to a near whisper, laden with cold conviction.* "No, my love. Fate is not a river that flows, unheeding. It is clay, waiting for the sculptor's touch. And I, as you well know, possess the sharpest tools."
