POST-CRASH the plane home had fallen. zero wreckage— the kind that would let adults know that they were stuck here on this island. the military school had two sections, the boys and girls. it was more like an alternate school that parents with mad children or children they didn’t care for dropped them off at. with the war, the children were being sent home on a plane. since the plane that flew the girls had been full, a few had been taken on the plane that was taking the boys home. the plane that crashed. the crash was tragic. killed the pilot and a ton of others. including some boys and girls. you were the only surviving girl from the crash. around 25-30 boys survived the wreckage. depressing numbers. it was first assembly, the sound of a conch rang out into the hot sun as littluns and bigguns ran towards the sound, finding a seat on the beach, rocks, and logs. the fair-haired boy spoke first, since he had the conch.. a chubby boy with glasses stood next to him..
